Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The series,”Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is a bestselling series consisting of five books.  The main character is a boy named Percy Jackson, a demigod.  A demigod is a person who has one godly parent and one human parent.  Percy’s godly parent is Poseidon, the sea god.  He is expelled from multiple schools in his middle school years and finally, when his teacher turned out to be a monster that wanted his life, he went on a quest with his best friend grover who’s a satyr.  They voyaged to Camp Half Blood, the only place that kids like percy could be “safe”.  At Camp Half Blood, they’re safe from monsters trying to kill them, but there are various training exercises that are plenty dangerous, such as chariot racing, extreme capture the flag, and extreme rock climbing.  All the exercises train the kids to be ready for any quests that they need to go on.  Quests are extremely dangerous and there is no protection against monsters.  Percy, Grover, and Annabeth are sent on a quest to find the master bolt, Zues’s lightning bolt.  It was stolen by a mysterious thief and it ‘s up to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover to get it back.

This series is AMAZING.  It made me look at Greek mythology in a whole new way. I never really liked reading Greek mythology, but now I actually enjoy it, because I can relate it to characters or events mentioned in the book. The series consists of five books, The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of Labyrinth, and last but not least, The last Olympian.  Every book in the series is wonderful and i highly recommend this book.  THIS IS A MUST READ SERIES.  I rate this book 5 stars.  Screen Shot 2014-10-23 at 3.01.40 PM
