House of Secrets

“House of Secrets” is a book by Chris Columbus and Ned Vizzini.  Brendan, Eleanor, and Cordelia Walker had everything they ever could have wanted, but when a strange and mysterious incident happens and Dr.Walker loses his job, they are forced to move.  They move into a huge, beautiful Victorian style house.  It seems too good to be true, because of the price they paid for the house.  The house also seems very strange and creepy.  But this strange and creepy house brings the three siblings on a roller coaster of an adventure.

I read this book in 5th grade and I really enjoyed it.  I am planning on rereading it after I finish the various other books I currently have my face buried in.  I don’t remember every detail but there was a few things that happened that makes you hate and love the book at the same time.  I guess that’s just a sign that it’s a good book.  I rate this book 3 and a half stars, because I couldn’t relate to the characters or many of the events that took place.  But over-all, it’s well written and a good book for a rainy day.
