Mental Breakdowns

Dear Aunt Edith,

I can’t stop having mental breakdowns! It’s so stressful and I just can’t stand it anymore. Please help me fix my problem.”

Dear mentallybreakingdownperson:[,

The best thing you can do is take deep breaths, and think about what’s happened.

For example:

1. Sally Jo told me my hair looked better up.

2. I told Sally Jo I don’t care what she says.

3. I shoved Sally Jo.

4. I ripped her ponytail holder out.

5. I slingshot it at her.

6. I slapped her….

7. I stomped away…

If it’s your fault, apologize. If it’s Sally Jo’s fault (or another), talk to them, and they’re your friends, they can help you get over it. Sometimes, the best thing to do would be to see if this is really worth getting upset about.

Find happy places, breathe, and just calm down. You sound like a frazzled person. Try talking with your parents or figuring out how to get yourself less… frazzled.

Good luck!

Don’t forget to send in your advice requests!

With Love,

Aunt Edith

P.S. Be glad you asked me, because any other adult would have said something like, “oh its just puberty blah blah blah.” You’re welcome.
