On saturday May 2nd, a firefighter in Slidell, Louisiana saved a group of 6 baby ducks from a storm drain. The ducks were just small enough to fit in the drain but the mother was too large, so she didn’t fall with the babies. It took about 1.5 hours to save the ducks and the method they used was very creative.
They used an iphone.
That’s right. An iphone. A firefighter used the quack-quack sound to lure the ducks out of the drain. The ducks thought the quack sound was their mother so they went toward the sound. The babies were soon reunited with their mother and were on their merry way.
The firefighters and everyone who helped in the rescue did a great job and thought in a creative and effective way.
